Our history
David Ilnitskiy, RN, BSN, CCRN and Jamie Santolucito, RN, CRNI, VA-BC founded GoldStar Vascular Access, Inc. with the primary vision of providing high quality around-the-clock vascular access services to patients throughout the health care continuum. We recognize the current challenges confronting inpatient and outpatient health care organizations in providing safe, reliable and timely vascular access services to their patients.
The absence of dedicated vascular access specialists and/or the inability to provide 24/7 vascular access services pose serious challenges to health care organizations. Failure to obtain timely and reliable vascular access can jeopardize patient outcomes, contribute to inappropriate or inadequate vascular access device selection and ultimately increase health care costs.
GoldStar Vascular Access was founded to provide health care organizations with a better alternative. We partner with some of the most skilled and qualified vascular access specialists in the industry, to provide your patients with the highest quality vascular access services available.
How it all came together
It is essential to understand the reasoning for why GoldStar Vascular Access was established. As a team of clinical experts providing decades of vascular access in inpatient hospital settings, we came to the realization that there exists a vacuum of vascular services in our community. That vacuum is seen in after-hours services and outpatient settings. While effective patient-centered care is 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, without any exceptions for holidays or weekends, it is often not the case for IV therapy teams. Realizing the struggle of maintaining 24-hour vascular access coverage for most hospitals and facilities, GoldStar was created.
It is our intention to support existing IV therapy teams during after-hours, weekends & holidays, and to whatever extend it is deemed necessary.

We specialize in the insertion of peripherally-inserted central catheters (PICC’s), midlines, and ultrasound guided PIV insertion as well as catheter maintenance and troubleshooting for all types of vascular access devices. In addition, we provide exceptional vascular access education, training and precepting. Although our primary focus is on alternative care settings such as long-term care, hospice, home care and ambulatory care settings, we are poised and eager to complement existing inpatient vascular access or IV teams.
We offer 24/7 coverage, 365 days a year, which means no more delays in treatment, postponed discharges or costly referrals to Interventional Radiology. We provide a cost-effective solution for timely, reliable vascular access delivered by an exceptional team of highly skilled and qualified, board-certified vascular access specialists.
All of our providers are board-certified in vascular access and have extensive experience inserting, maintaining and troubleshooting all types of vascular access devices among diverse patient populations. Furthermore, our providers have a minimum of 5 years’ experience on a vascular access team in a high volume hospital. We guarantee client and patient satisfaction.
We utilize state-of-the-art technology for PICC insertion, including magnetic navigation coupled with ECG-guidance technology. The use of these technologies is well documented and supported by current literature and standards of practice. In fact, the 2016 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice endorse the use of ECG-guidance for PICC tip confirmation over chest radiograph due to greater accuracy, more rapid initiation of therapy and reduced costs.
